I love the Chinese New Year because we get to celebrate New Year again! If the first few weeks of 2012 sucked, then you can start anew on the Lunar New Year!

I promised not to rely on horoscopes anymore, however I could not help reading and googling what is in store for me during the Year of the Dragon. Predictions are mixed. One geomancer said this would be an unlucky year while other Feng Shui consultants say otherwise.The lady at the Feng Shui store where I bought my ally bracelet said this year will be auspicious, hence, I do not need to change the charms in my bracelet. Maritess Allen gave a mixed prediction for the Year of the Pig. So confusing!

Anyway I would rather dwell on the positive. Driving away negative vibes will surely bring a more positive energy right? Since I like the predictions stated below (whole file can be found  here), I choose to believe this. I downloaded so I can read it from time to time.

I would also like to add that for the Lunar New Year, I sort of changed my hairstyle. But more of that in another post.

I haven’t posted for over a week! I realized I only have time to blog on weekends and since I was busy last week, I was not able to blog. Duh. In my previous post, I said I already have a WordPress Iphone app but I realized it’s weird to blog on your Iphone.

Good thing I had time to blog today because I reached home early (one of the perks of driving to work, yay) and I finished exercising early too.

Anyyyway, so much for a long introduction. I just want to declare that this year will rock. This time, instead of relying on stars and fortune tellers, I will make specific goals, dream bigger, visualize my aspirations and claim that they will ALL come true.

During the start of the year, I intended to attempted to list my dreams and goals but got a bit bored. Ironic for a wannabe writer and blogger, right? I wanted to be artsy fartsy and buy a cork board and make a vision board my making a collage of my 2012 goals. I realized however that, that would be too tedious and time consuming. Yup, so much for working on your goals!

I then remembered I am on Pinterest! PInterest is  a virtual pinboard where you can share your own images or any image you fancy from the web. I usually pin about fashion, cute stuff and things I am lusting to buy. Last week, I made a virtual 2012-2013 Vision Board on Pinterest so I can easily “pin” what I  want to accomplish for the next 2 years, or simply put, before I turn 30.

As you can see from the images, I put some (well a lot) of pictures of weddings and lovey dovey couples. I am pretty embarrassed to share with the whole world that I want to have a boyfriend and get married in the next 2 years, but hey. I got to get it out there (Universe, are you listening?) that I’m single and ready to mingle!

To summarize, I put some pics of the following:

• trips to Japan and Paris
• a car, like a Ford Focus
• going to Coachella

…and um, that’s about it. But hey I do want more things! I guess I have to dedicate more time to this vision board and more importantly, focus on the “real” world so I can accomplish my dreams.

Honestly, I don’t know how to “work” hard on finding a boyfriend and dating and stuff. I believe it shouldn’t be forced but some friends are telling me I should put myself “out” there. So I dunno. I still have to figure it out. For now, I am focusing on work and avoiding the lazy trap so I can get a promotion.

So, to any of you reading this, wish me luck as I will do the same for you.

Though I love the Eraserheads, I always thought “Overdrive” was a stupid song-until now. Now that I’m driving on my own- ang sarap pala ng feeling. It feels like I’ve been given a set of wings! Okay, maybe I’m a bit overreacting here (but not quite), but kinikilig ako sa fact that I’m now driving myself to work and back.

I’ve been driving on my own for about two weeks now. My road to independent driving has been literally…bumpy. I made a major parking booboo on my 2nd day of driving that made my trunk almost fall apart! For every mistake, however, I make sure I learn from it. My motto now is “When in doubt, step on the brakes.” Hmm, that could also be applicable to life, right?

I know I’m a decade too late already. Others started driving when they were 16 or 18. I had my driving lessons the summer before college-more than 10 years ago. I even learned driving stick shift! Driving myself to school didn’t work out because one, I bumped my car and our house gate in a week’s time which highly discouraged me. Second, I wasn’t really compelled to drive because I was sharing the driver with my dad and I was also carpooling. When I started working, my dad has retired so I had the driver all to myself.

Until, last year when we had to let go of our driver because he was driving with a fake license for quite some time. Anyway, it’s a long story. Since then, I have been practicing with my dad. Finally after more than a year of practicing and me nagging, I was given the go signal to drive alone!

Unfortunately, I do not have a new car to match my “independence.” I have been given my dad’s old car when I went to college and I’m still using it today.  It’s okay, it still looks new and it’s very well-maintained. I have been using this car for many years already but I only named it recently. My dad names all his cars “Fanny.” Err, not really a fan of Fanny so I decided to name my car Walter Charles Beatle!

Since I am a new “driver,” I’m still given a very strict curfew. By strict, I mean my only allowed route is home-office and back. I’m pretty fine with it (besides I’m too old to whine and rebel). My goal for 2012 is to improve and master my driving since I know I still have HEAPS to learn: parallel parking, not forgetting to stop in traffic lights, maintaining lanes, backward parking, keeping cool under pressure and a whole lot more.

I took a leave today because of my sore throat and dry cough. Funny thing is, 2 of my officemates also texted me that they will be on leave as well! I hope our boss doesn’t think we’re on to something!

I feel so much better now thanks to Bactidol. My cough is still there, though. I switched medicines because I feel Robitussin is giving me a GERD attack. I feel dizzy and nauseous after I take it. Please, I don’t need another sickness creeping in to welcome 2012. So I’m now taking Solmux and I feel fine-ish. Cough’s still there but at least sore throat is gone!

I spent the day paying my bills and fixing my Itunes library. Updating and organizing my Itunes library is one of my most mundane pleasures in life.

I tried to complete NME’s 150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years, something which I have been doing for the past months. I wanted to complete all the songs today since I only have half of the songs from the list. I downloaded some of the songs but laziness got the better of me after slaving over it for 2 hours. Besides, with Limewire gone, it’s difficult to get mp3s even with 4shared around. I’m not a fan of ripping from Youtube because the quality is not nice (yup am anal when it comes to music). Since NME is sort of a music snoot, most of the songs listed are hard to find even in Piratelandia! So yeah, right now, I just have 86 songs on the list. I think that’s enough to accompany me while driving to the office.

Try comparing NME’s list to a similar list of VH1. LMAO. I can’t bring myself to understand how Ke$ha’s Tick Tock Tik Tok can be one of this decade’s best. Or even Shaggy’s It Wasn’t Me!

I wanted to blog about my goals for 2012 but I was left thinking, “What do I really want to achieve in 2012?” So let me think about that first, but for now, I leave you with Friendly Fires’ Paris. Because one day, I’m gonna live in Paris, I know it. I’m on it.

My first day of the year started with my sore throat and dry cough getting worse. My condition though is very apt for the new year. My cough sounds worse than the ratatattatat of sinturon ni Hudas and my throat feels like it’s on fire. Swak na swak sa Year of the Dragon. Ironically, I started getting really sick an hour before 2012 and it got worse when I went out of the house to watch the fireworks.

With my mom being sick, we decided to stay home last night to welcome the New year. Usually on New Year’s Eve, my family goes to Ayala Ave. to watch the fireworks (long story why we don’t buy fireworks). There wasn’t any Makati celebration last year (so we had to rush home ) but we were sure there would be one this year. Unfortunately, with my mom’s condition, we had to contend with our neighbors who do not mind spending a few thousand pesos on air and noise pollutants.

With my tripod and camera on hand, I tried to capture our block’s adieu for 2011.So here’s what the last minutes of 2011 and the first minutes of 2012 looked like for me:

I hope the 365 days of 2012 will be better for me because, truth be told, this day sucked.

So how was 2011 like? Honestly, pretty disappointing. Or maybe, I just raised the bar so high (so HIGH!) because Chinese and Greek astrology say that this is will be a ROCKING year. I’m a Pig and a Virgo, and my horoscope basically says my sign will be vomiting luck for 2011. My career, romantic, and social life will take positive, drastic changes in 2011. They also said there will also be lots of travel opportunities this year. So how did my year turn out?

Well, I didn’t get a promotion, I attended less parties this year, my friends were hard to gather even for a simple dinner, and well, I don’t want to anymore comment on my love life. If there’s one thing that came true, it’s that I was able to travel abroad twice. And I am truly grateful for that.

This year wasn’t really that bad. In fact, it wasn’t bad at all. Sure I was bummed that I didn’t get a promotion but maybe because I was promoted 2 years ago and they wanted to give chance to others. My family and I didn’t experience any grave catastrophe. We were pretty healthy and our finances are okay. Well, my personal finances were a disaster (damn you Mango sale and Cotton On splurges in Australia) but I always managed to pull through and pay my credit cards.

Maybe because I relied on the stars too much that I didn’t do enough action. I was constantly shouting to the Universe the things I wanted, but often, the Universe didn’t listen. Sorry me, my dreams and goals had to take a raincheck because the Universe probably has other plans.

I guess for 2012, I will not anymore hold on to horoscope predictions as if they were gold. I will just listen to my gut-and my guy says 2012 will be a great year for me. I will live my life next year as it was humanity’s last year.

Next blog entry will be my “grateful” list and accomplishment list for the year that was. For now, Happy New Year everyone!

True to my site title name, I am absolutely loss for words. I don’t even know why I started this blog. I already have 2 Tumblrs and a twitter account. This sounded like  a good idea last night and today, I am totally unsure about this blog.

Last night, I wanted a blogging host site that is user-friendly for text posts. I find it a bit difficult to post text posts in Tumblr since Tumblr has more of a microblogging platform. I wanted a dedicated blog for my emo-ness and non adventures.

Almost 3 months ago, I wrote my personal blogging history. I guess, this will blog will be added to my blogging portfolio and history.

So how will I differentiate this blog from my Tumblr? I guess my Tumblr will be for my Instragram posts while my text posts will be in here. What will this blog be about? No, this won’t be a bucket list-before-I-turn-30 blog type of thing. Or maybe it will, I dunno. I guess, it will just be an outlet for me to document my life, thoughts, wishes before I approach the 3rd decade of my life.

So, to anyone who is reading this, welcome. Hopefully I will be able to stick with this.

PS. I took me almost 2 hours to fix this site and customize everything. I’m still working my way around.
